J'ai retourné
So I return once again. This blog will remain active as long as I remain alive. Or until the record companies force Google to close my Blogger. So lap it up while it's still around. I have also retroactively updated past links on all previous posts.
For today's entry, I have uploaded the honey-throated songstress, Francoise Hardy. This is a compilation/re-issuing of her best stuff. If you enjoy Edith Piaf and Jean Ferrat, you will be delighted by this.
Enjoy.

¡San Juan ha bajado el dedo!
Yes indeed my friends, the world is indeed ending. Pigs are flying, the fat lady is singing, etc, etc. I have returned from my hiatus, sabbatical, or whatever you wish to call it to bring you more aural joy. Why after so long am I returning? Because it has become more and more difficult to find sites that dole music for those intrepid enough to seek. But note this caveat: I do not plan to dedicate enormous amounts of time on this blog, so the postings will be infrequent. But for people who are receiving free music (For sampling purposes only. If you like what you hear, please support the artist and buy their respective albums) there is no room for complaints.
Regarding the previous postings: yes, I will be retroactively renewing the links to all previous posts. I posted some good stuff back there, so get on that eventually. Now, due to the gargantuan size of my music library, I've been considering posting it in alphabetical order. It's just easier for me to go down the list in sequential order of the artist's name. Of course, if by chance the 2 or 3 people who actually stumble upon my blog have requests—and assuming I actually own said request—I will be more than happy to oblige.
Time to dust off the digital cobwebs and get back into it, wouldn't you say?

Apologia
I apologize to the 1 or 2 people who actually view this blog at least biannually. Mark that I will put up more music... eventually. Sit tight, I have more music to upload than I know what to do with.

The Heroine Sheiks - (We Are The)

Hailing from Brooklyn, the Heroine Sheiks are a noise rock band that I've been fond of for quite a while. Think of them as a melodic version of Cows. Incidentally both are on Amphetamine Reptile Records, who have released albums from such bands as Boss Hog, Brainiac, Helmet, Jawbox, and Janitor Joe. Quality stuff. Enjoy.

Moccasin - Last Leaf

Many bands on Buddyhead Records don't get enough respect. I mean sure, the owners are dicks who post personal information on almost-universally reviled artists for the sole pleasure of making said people miserable, but they're funny dicks, and that makes them ok in my book. To be back on point, Moccasin is one of those Buddyhead bands who get scoffed at for being associated with such upstarts. There is irony to be had in this, since all bands on the label are good. From Moccasin to Wires On Fire, Icarus Line(before they jumped ship) and Jubilee, all their discographies are worth owning. With Moccasin's Last Leaf, once you hear the stoner-rock/pseudo-shoegaze tinged loud rock you'll be hard-pressed to find a substitute just as good. Enjoy.
